This week’s declines were also reflected in the continued weakening in the Technical Indicators which our Major Market Model follows. The NYSE advance/decline line was lower for a second week in a row. Although new highs continue to outnumber new lows on both the NYSE and the NASDAQ, the number of new highs continued to decline. A shift from large cap to small cap dominance is of significant importance to our model and the small cap Russell 2000 index outperformed other major indexes gaining 0.76% for the week.

Bond prices edged down Friday after this week’s news releases of new home sales, durable goods and jobless claims reports suggested the Federal Reserve will not cut interest rates in the near future. The five-year note fell 3/32 to yield 4.80 percent. The benchmark 10-year note slipped 5/32 to yield 4.86 percent and the 30-year bond was down 6/32 to yield 5.00 percent.
I’m speaking of Variety the magazine and website, not variety “the quality or condition of being various”.

The main reason I hate it is because of the pompus arrogance that oozes from the “Hollywood jargon” used in the articles.

Over the last few months, I’ve rolled my eyes at the following unnecessary jargon in Variety articles:

“Skedded”: Scheduled (example: “Sony priced the PS3 below its production costs during its startup period and production delays caused a slower-than-skedded rollout in key territories.”)
Ron Artest Wants Out

He has requested to be traded from the Indiana Pacers and it seems they are going to work with him. I’m not really sure how many teams will be interested because of his personality issues, but he is one talented player. Stay tuned on this one.

More to the story than being said

Is what is going down in Miami. It has been rumored for months that Riley would take over for the Heat and today Stan Van Gundy stepped down as head coach. Van Gundy sited personal reasons of wanting to spend more time with his family, but he just realize he is a busy man now? I think Riley told him to go home and spend more time with his family due to the Heat’s 11-10 record.

Make Up Your Mind Miguel

After requesting to be traded at the end of last week it seems Miguel Tejada has changed his tune. I swear between Schizo Ramirez and Manic Tejada there is never a dull moment.
“The Alphabet”: ABC Network (example:”As web heads and industry insiders geared up for Day 2 of upfront madness with Tuesday’s presentations from ABC, speculation centered on where the Alphabet might deploy its most potent new weapon, “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Private Practice.”)
In currency trading, the Euro bought at $1.3430, down from $1.3460 late Wednesday. The greenback traded at ¥121.42, down from ¥121.65 in the previous session.

The AAS Market Model turned Bearish as of the close Tuesday, May 15, 2007. The total universe of stocks, ETF’s and mutual funds which we review on a daily basis is 1831. Of those reviewed, 568 are rated “Buy,” 687 are rated “Sell” and 576 “Neutral”. The recommended allocation in the Model Fund Portfolio’s is 50% invested and 50% in cash, while in the Model Stock Portfolio the allocations have been reduced as individual securities lose their directional trend or violate an internal Sell rule.

The tone for the coming week will be set by the heavy dose of the economic data scheduled to be released which will give investors something new to digest. The FOMC meeting minutes will be released on Wednesday. The Q1 preliminary GDP is due on Thursday. And the most important data for the week is probably going to be the May employment report due out on Friday.

Allah’s got a link roundup of stories related to the thwarted plot.

Pajamas Media has links to a few leftie blogs already downplaying this threat. Surprise surprise.

Less than two weeks later, with the posture of a man who holds the world’s most precious cargo in his hands, he promised we would “deal with this”. He did not make me max out my credit cards, neither did he make me wallow in the pain of asking him to take on a responsibility I wasn’t sure quite belonged to him. And it’s all because he loves me. Together, we will make the necessary adjustments, apply for the necessary help, and pay the necessary interest, but we will make it.

Maybe this all sounds melodramatic, but I can’t help being amazed at the beauty of God’s provision here. From abusive marriage to sacrificial love - the comparison is striking. I can only lift my eyes and thank my heavenly Father for the grace that made all these things possible.

The carrots were right there though. And later on, I gnawed on a couple to kill time before I wanted to and go and get a soda. The good news is there is nothing at home to eat that is not baby carrots, pea pods and Healthy Choice microwave dinners. Did you know that apple sauce gets furry even if it lives it’s entire lifespan in the refrigerator? Lou loves the goats.

I had planned to whittle my lunches down to mere Happy Meals, to further my “eating better” regime. I walked into my McDonald’s yesterday and the counter guy rang up my order before I had a chance to order. It’s was a nice bit of customer service, but it did not help my regime. I would have told the guy he jumped the gun but he seemed so pleased with himself for remembering my order that I couldn’t bring myself to take the wind out of his sails. The guy is a full time counter jockey, he has so few joys in life. If he can take pleasure from customer service, I’m not going to take that away from him.
Friends,

I have come to be in a situation that only a miracle can alleviate. I cannot elaborate on details here, but I would appreciate any and all prayers for this dilemma to be solved. It is very serious and feel much bigger than any possible human remedy. Thankfully, I do not have to rely solely on human solutions.
Just checking in to say hello - had a busy day at the 8-5 and am here at mom and dad’s tonight as mom and I are taking Muffie cat for her annual vet visit tomorrow. Should be fun! Not - poor little gal hates being in that pet taxi!

After that we’ve got a couple house projects we’re going to work on here, so my Saturday is pretty full. I’ll return to blogging Sunday - I am also going to try and liveblog the Dem debate that will take place Sunday night.

Mitt Romney on Hillary Clinton’s “shared prosperity” economic plan:

“Her view is the old, classic, European caricature that we describe of big government, big taxation, welfare state,” said the former Massachusetts governor.

“She gave a speech a couple of days ago and laid out her vision for America. And as I listened to her I figured her platform wouldn’t even get her elected in France,” Romney, who was a missionary in France, said to chuckles and applause.

Second Non-Approvable Letter

Forest Laboratories, Inc. , an international pharmaceutical manufacturer and marketer, today reported that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a second non-approvable letter for the indication of Panic Disorder for Lexapro(R) (escitalopram oxalate), an SSRI antidepressant. The Company indicated that the letter was pursuant to an FDA review of its response, dated August 2004, to an initial non-approvable letter which raised issues related to methods and statistical analyses performed for the two placebo-controlled trials provided in the submission. The Company is currently reviewing the FDA’s response in order to determine the appropriate action regarding the Panic Disorder submission. Both studies included in the submission have been previously published in medical journals. Lexapro is indicated for the initial and maintenance treatment of major depressive disorder and for generalized anxiety disorder in adults.
bitch wrote it off as a zit, but she was obviously disgusted with me, even through her Botox face I could read it…

Winding Up
Well I made it through “finding nemo” without stealing popcorn out of the hands of the 4-year old I took to the movie, though he was trying to get me to eat some–they start early. I chomped on my 30 pistachoes in the dark, sucking the salt of the shells, washing it down with my $100.00 diet coke.
Came home, famished, which is annoying since this already skinny lady in my office who is doing the SBD for those pesky last 5 lbs (pet peve–I mean, she should be in the 25+ club to join) claimed she was never hungry in Phase I, I wanted to say “you are probably never hungry anyway,” but she is actually pretty nice. So I managed to George Forman a chicken breast with chii garlic paste, soy sauce, and some ginger-total ghetto gourmet, and I even steamed two artichockes, and I rosted that caulflower for tommorrow- and it tastes AWESOME! Garlic, olive oil,

I think Jeff was drunk or that sugar he had totally worked. Maybe both. Kim and I tangoed a few times and just danced like freaks.. I dosie-doed with Mandy, Kim, Lauren, April, and Miriam. I danced for a min. with Mandy. And I tried to get matt to dance with Jeff. ( like were outta this world!!!) When the Safety Dance was on but Jeff and him wouldn’t so everyone else just danced like they were outta this world and looked at matt’s pants!! It was really really really fun and wish it had lasted longer..’till like 2 AM as Jeff suggested, but Jeff’s a bit messed up…..”We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind, ’cause if your friends don’t dance then the’re no friends of mine!” It was nice seeing friends like Matt and Miriam who I haven’t seen in a while.
